Thanksgiving home & table setting in your local style

Now & Then Autumn Applique Mobile
I looked through all the home magazines and big franchise stores to get ideas what they are doing for the thanksgiving and holiday home decorations and table setting ideas. It's just what I do all the time. Checking on things and get myself updated. I noticed that the magazine pictures and the websites of other nation-wide franchise home decor retailers are promoting "picture perfect", "what-it-should-be" look. Maybe that's why we never actually TRY to get that look, even though we always saying "Oh my gosh, that's so pretty". I really want everybody pick some ideas and try them in their homes and on their holiday tables and get their OWN look, that's so perfect for their settings.
My fellow local retailers in Takoma Park tried to suggest few table settings and holiday look in our windows in LOCAL style. What we can do to make Takoma Parker look or Washingtonian look. In my shop window and Takoma Park's The most famous gift destination, Now and Then (6927 Laurel Avenue, Takoma Park, MD 20912 /301-270-2210)'s window, we set our own thanksgiving vineyards. We collected items from neighbor local retail stores, such as Magic Carpet, Covered Market, Ace Hardware Store, Now & Then, and Park Florist.
In this setting, Jude, owner of Now and Then, created this right after thankgiving dinner scene, as a relaxed family time.
My centerpiece is created as a transitional look to christmas time. I set my golden pine cone ornaments in the middle and based the whole design on oak leaves. I tucked some dried magnolia foliages as well as silk pine leaves. Added on are the faux berries to pick up the golden pine cone color. Finished with faux pomegranates. It looks pretty natural with array of colored foliages but elegant enough to go on the fully set dinner table.
For the perfect thanksgiving entertainment, Video Americain suggested their favorite holiday movies. Don't forget to pick up your after dinner shows.
