We had a great time together working on Shinki's cool summer fan design. Shinki introduced us a innovative concept of contemporary Japanese floral design. He taught us to see the beauty of "common" botanical materials-we call them "weed" most of the time, and using them in our design to create a zen style. It gave us a true serene and calm feeling, literally cool off couple of degrees from the heat.
Shinki also brought some cute Japanese snacks to taste. After all it's a "taste" of Japan, isn't it?
We scheduled Shinki's next workshop as August 1st Wednesday 6:30pm at Park Florist. "Kokedama"! What is kokedama? I don't want to ruin your surprise but I'll give you a hint. We will be making a small fist size little garden. Different concept of personal garden, I should say.
It would be so cool. Please don't miss it. We already have people called in for it and we don't have much space here as you might notice.
